Tonight's WWE 205 Live started off with a recap of last week's results, where the newcomer Mark Andrews and an unusually ferocious Drew Gulak progressed to Round two of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, after defeating Akira Tozawa and Tony Nese respectively.
The video package also discussed the scheduled matches for the night, with Mustafa Ali facing Gentleman Jack Gallagher and the newcomer to 205 Live, Buddy Murphy taking on Ariya Daivari for the two final spots in the 2nd Round of the Tournament.
Ariya Daivari vs Buddy Murphy
The commentators talked about the coming matches for the night to start off the show. Ariya Daivari, in a backstage direct-to-camera promo, stated his intentions of progressing in the 205 Live Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. He also said that Buddy Murphy would not take that away from him.

Following that, a video of Murphy's weigh-in was shown while he made his entrance, where his weight was recorded at 200.9 Pounds.
Murphy started off strongly in the match, knocking down Ariya Daivari with Shoulder Blocks and followed it up with a Hurricanrana. Daivari took things to the ring apron where he slammed Murphy onto the apron with a reverse DDT, following which he sent him into the steel steps.
Daivari continued his assault on Murphy inside the ring, focusing on Murphy's back. Murphy was able to kick Daivari in the head to get some space followed by a dropkick from the middle rope.
He then kicked Daivari a couple of times, but the latter avoided a dive and went to the outside, and Murphy followed him with an over-the-top-rope dive, taking him out. He hit Daivari with a Double-Knee from the top rope for a near-fall.
Murphy hesitated, and Daivari gained the advantage, hitting Murphy with a Persian Lion Splash from the top rope, for a near fall, as Murphy kicked out much to Daivari's disbelief. He followed up with a Hammerlock Lariat for another incredible near-fall.
Murphy hit Daivari with fast strikes followed by a Pumphandle Backdrop for the win and advanced to the next round.

In a backstage promo, General Manager Drake Maverick provided the updated Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Brackets, with Murphy slated to face the winner of the Gallagher and Ali bout, and Drew Gulak against Mark Andrews in two weeks. For next week's show, he said that Kalisto and Strong would face each other, and also, TJP would face Cedric Alexander.
Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik vs Evan Daniels and ???
Negado (Enhancement Talent)
The match was a foregone conclusion, as Dorado and Metalik took them on with some tandem offence.
Metalik displayed his athleticism with a handspring followed by his strength and he slammed Negado?? onto the mat with force from the attempted Hurricanrana. Metalik was distracted by Daniels long enough to be hit by a knee, and Daniels came in and hit Metalik with a few strikes.
Metalik hit Daniels with a dropkick and tagged in Lince Dorado. Dorado hit Daniels' partner with a facebuster and hit him with a Crossbody for a near-fall.
Dorado hit them both with a Handspring stunner sending them out of the ring, and Metalik and Dorado followed them, hitting them with a huge Plancha. Dorado then hit a Shooting Star onto Daniels' partner for the win. The trio then celebrated their victory in the ring.

There was a backstage direct-to-camera promo by Drew Gulak who said that winners have to go far to win their matches, justifying his actions from the previous week. He sent a message to Mark Andrews, calling him 'Flash and panache' and said that he would force him to tap out.
In another promo, Andrews said that he was not going to be put in the 'No Fly Zone' and would fly to Wrestlemania and become the Cruiserweight Champion.
'Gentleman' Jack Gallagher vs Mustafa Ali
Jack Gallagher made his way to the ring for the final First Round Match of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament with a new look, as he braced himself to face Mustafa Ali.
Gallagher backed Ali into the ropes and then went into a test of strength against him, while Murphy watched on from the back.
Gallagher worked on Ali's left shoulder and worked to weaken it. Ali tried to get out but was unable to as Gallagher refused to let go. Gallagher caught Ali and dropped him with a backdrop focusing the offence on his arm. He locked Ali down with an armbar.
Ali quickened the pace and locked in the Half Boston Crab. Gallagher rushed Ali and went over his back into a handstand on the corner ropes.
Gallagher and Ali did some flips countering and reversing their moves. Ali and Gallagher tried to pin each other with innovative roll-ups in a fast-paced back and forth.
They locked up in the corner and Gallagher hit Ali with strikes and hit him with a headbutt. Ali got caught in the apron, and Gallagher hit him with a number of strikes. He followed up once inside the ring and knocked him down, followed by a snap suplex.
Gallagher seemed to ground Ali, but Ali countered with a mid-air dropkick, followed by a Hurricanrana. He then dropped him with a facebuster. They ended up on the top rope, where Gallagher hung up Ali's arm on the rope, then sending him into the corner.
Ali was still able to kick out, but Gallagher locked in the armlock on him. He hit him with a Hammerlock Slam and continued to focus his attention on that arm. Ali botched a slam to the outside and hurt himself as he landed badly.
On the top rope, Ali came back with a dive, which Gallagher turned into an armbar. He followed Ali with the armbar to the top rope and then threw him out of the ring with a huge dropkick. He attacked his arm outside again, as Gallagher unleashed his vicious offence.
Gallagher hit Ali with elbows and then went for the cover for a near-fall. Ali reversed a backdrop and hit Gallagher with a Superkick. He hit the Reverse 450 Splash on Gallagher to pick up a surprise win out of nowhere after a match that was dominated by Gallagher. He progressed to the second round of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.
