#1. WWE presents the first-ever Firefly Funhouse match, Wrestlemania 36
Although it wasn't like most of the segments on this list, John Cena versus The Fiend in a Firefly Funhouse match was still one the best things to air on WWE television this year. Not only did it show how far Bray Wyatt was willing to go to be as off the wall as possible, but it also played into the controversial history of John Cena within the company.
From rewriting John Cena's debut on SmackDown, to going back to Saturday Night's Main Event to draw a comparison between Hogan and Cena's egos, this match had everything. It even lightly played into Cena's role in backstage politics, and how it had helped his WWE career.
In the end, seeing the Doctor of Thuganomics come back was just the cherry on top, but it was cool to see Cena 'pass the torch' to The Fiend in a sense. It was also cool to see all the layers WWE added to this match, and how much creative control Wyatt must have had in this cinematic masterpiece. It was truly a bizarre series of events that left fans in awe at the magic that was created that night.
