Bray Wyatt is expected to return any time in the coming shows as he has been cleared to compete. The “Eater of the World” has not had a full-fledged match since Roadblock this year and would be itching to get back in the ring. However, he would be without a legitimate opponent when he returns.
If we consider the events before his calf injury, Bray might as well return as a face character. But, we all know how great he is as a heel. With the looming brand split, the Creative Team will have to book him strongly regardless of him being a face or a heel. Here are the five feuds for Bray and The Wyatt Family on their return:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
5. Brock Lesnar
We will start off with the most obvious feud that most of the WWE fans are expecting to happen. This feud was planned for WrestleMania 32, but the injury to Bray Wyatt forced the WWE to shelve their plans. With SummerSlam due in another two months, WWE Creative will have ample time to set up this feud.
The prospect of the clash between Lesnar and Wyatt is enticing as both of them are such believable characters. Both of them are equally matched and bring their unique styles to the table. If Wyatt returns as a heel, he can again attack Lesnar along with his family. Whereas, the “Beast Incarnate” can go on to decimate the members of the Wyatt family in the run up to SummerSlam.
Also, a match-up between Lesnar and Braun Strowman would be interesting as the WWE Universe would get a chance to witness two behemoths colliding in the ring.
This could be a great feud for both these superstars as it would pit the mind games of Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family against the brutal power of Lesnar and both stars will get the much needed impetus irrespective of the winner of the feud.
4. The Rock
The Rock vs. Bray Wyatt would undoubtedly be a crowd puller. It can be a feud which Bray could win without damaging the push or the momentum of the star as “The Great One” is at such a stage in his wrestling career that he is not affected by wins or losses.
WWE can set up this feud by allowing Bray to attack The Rock, it could be a behind the scenes attack as well. It would set up a match at SummerSlam where The Rock could either partner with a few current roster members or bring back legends like Mick Foley etc or Bray alone and put him over. We all know The Rock can put over talent.
With Bray and The Rock being equally gifted workers on the mic. the audience can expect some memorable promos as well during the feud. A “Rock Concert” to praise The Wyatt Family (You know how entertaining these segments have been in the past!) or Bray’s mind games will keep the fans hooked on to the feud.
Let’s just hope that the matches in the feud are better than the one at WrestleMania 32, which was a 6-second squash match.
3. Randy Orton
Yes, Randy Orton, he is also scheduled to return anytime now. He can be a great opponent to Bray because of his unpredictability. If the WWE have to turn The Wyatt Family face, then they need to book Bray in a feud where the other wrestler can be a maniacal heel.
There are not many people in the roster which could play a heel character as Orton does. He can return by confronting a returning Wyatt and challenging him to a match. Their storyline can also be a part of the “New Era” theme that currently is setting up most feuds in the WWE.
Even if Bray is heel, still Orton would be a perfect opponent for him. As, Orton being a senior pro now can take losses and allow Bray to win the feud. A win against an established wrestler with Orton’s caliber will add credibility to him and his stable as well.
2. Finn Balor
If the recent twitter exchange between Bray and Balor are any indications, then the fans are in for a treat at WrestleMania 33. Just the prospect of Balor and Triple-H Vs. Bray and The Undertaker will have all the fan boys and fan girls indulging in wishful thinking.
With the debut of Balor on the main roster just round the roster, a debut feud with The Wyatt family will be perfect for Balor to announce his arrival. The feud can be started if Wyatt clan attacks Balor and tries to perform some sort of hypnotic rituals on debuting Balor to take control of him. Wyatt would love to acquire Balor as the newest demon in his stable.
The feud could be about even be about which demon will stay on the premium brand as there can be only one demon on a brand. A match between these two stars would be an exhibition of their talents, diverse move sets and above all the clash of two mysterious and well portrayed characters.
1. Triple-H
A feud between Triple-H and Bray Wyatt is one feud which every WWE fan is waiting for. Though the two had a stare down on Raw when Wyatt did the dirty work for Triple-H by beating Roman Reigns, nothing emerged from that tease.
However, this feud can be a potential SummerSlam headliner. Triple-H could come back to aid his wife Stephanie to take control of Raw and could try to take out Shane, but, a returning Bray could come out and stop Triple-H. Bray could justify his actions by stating his desire to end the reign of Stephanie and Triple-H and becoming the harbinger of the new era.
With both Triple-H and Bray Wyatt both being intense and cerebral wrestlers, it would make a splendid feud where Wyatt can benefit from the heat that Triple-H generates from the crowd and become a completely face character.
At this point of his career Bray needs a solid feud to bring him back to relevance and give him the push he deserves. Maybe, a championship belt as well. But, if booked correctly his character would not require any championship to go over.
