5 matches that must happen again in WWE

#2. WWE Hall of Famer Edge should face Jeff Hardy one final time

Jeff Hardy and Edge are no strangers to each other.
Jeff Hardy and Edge are no strangers to each other.

One of the most underrated WWE rivalries features Edge and Jeff Hardy. The Ultimate Opportunist and the Charismatic Enigma took each other to the limit during their rivalry in 2009. Hardy pinned the Hall of Famer to win his first World Championship at Armageddon in 2008.

Their rivalry came to a head at Extreme Rules 2009. It was a brutal, high-risk ladder match that ended with Hardy winning back the title he'd lost earlier in the year, the World Heavyweight Championship.

Unfortunately, his glory wouldn't last long as CM Punk would successfully cash-in his Money in the Bank contract seconds later.

When Edge returned from retirement in the 2020 Royal Rumble match, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns were considered potential rivals. While all of these matches will be enthralling, one final battle with the Charismatic Enigma will be delightful.

WWE reserves such matches for specials in Saudi Arabia. The Undertaker vs. Goldberg took place at Super Show-Down 2019, and John Cena faced Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April 2018. Although a background story would add intrigue, Edge vs. Hardy doesn't necessarily need a storyline as the program writes itself.

"The Charismatic Enigma vs. The Rated-R Superstar: The Final Chapter" is a decent possibility that I feel fans would want to see.
