For every wrestling storyline that gives us moments which stay etched in our memories forever, there are dozens of storylines so unbearable that we wish they’d never happened. For every Daniel Bryan vs The Authority storyline, there’s a Katie Vick hanging right around the corner. When WWE get it right, it’s absolutely phenomenal to watch, when they don’t it can be bad, really bad.
From all the countless unbearable storylines over the years from Torrie Wilson’s father, Vince and Shane taking on God to Snitsky punting the baby etc., here are the 5 most unbearable storylines in WWE history.
5: Fake Razor and Fake Diesel
The year was 1996. Kevin Nash and Razor Ramon had signed for Vince’s rivals over at WCW and things were not looking bright for the WWE. At this point, it seems that Vince wanted to prove a point that wrestlers were actually just characters he owned.
When a fake Diesel and fake Razor Ramon showed up on WWE programming at the same time that Nash and Hall were on WCW tv, things went bizarre for a while. A heel Jim Ross even supported them. The highest point of the fake twosome’s career was a shot at the tag-team titles before they slowly disappeared from WWE programming.
Luckily for fake Diesel, he went on to achieve success later as Kane.
4: Katie Vick
Katie Vick is one of the most revolting wrestling storylines of all time. What were the WWE thinking when they thought necrophilia was a good storyline? No one knows.
Kane started feuding with Triple H in October 2002 in the lead up to the No Mercy pay-per-view. In the weeks preceding No Mercy Triple H began cutting promos on Kane talking about Katie Vick, a girl Kane had once loved, but his love was unrequited.
Triple H had claimed that Kane had had sex with Katie Vick after she’d died in a car crash and threatened to show footage of the incident. The footage, however, showed Triple H dressed as Kane at a funeral, pretending to make love to a mannequin inside a coffin.
3: Mr.McMahon’s death
The June 11, 2007 episode of Raw was Mr. McMahon appreciation night. In the weeks leading up to it, the Mr.McMahon character had become progressively more depressed after losing the ECW title at the 2007 One Night Stand pay-per-view. During his night of appreciation on Raw, a bevy of former and current Superstars came out to say negative things about Vince.
After being booed out of the ring with tears in his eyes, Vince walked past every Superstar on the roster towards his limo. As soon as Vince got in, the limo exploded and Raw went off air. There was confusion in the days following this with many news outlets covering the death as real.
Where would this storyline had gone had Chris Benoit’s death not caused the storyline to get cancelled? No one knows, but it can’t have been anything good.
2: Vince’s illegitimate son
When the illegitimate son angle first started the plan had been entirely different from what it ended up becoming. Mr. Kennedy was someone the WWE had big plans for at the time and he was the one who was supposed to be the illegitimate son but that was shelved when Mr. Kennedy was suspended. Which upcoming Superstar did the WWE replace him with?
Hornswoggle.
The storyline ended up being just a comedic afterthought and completely unbearable.
1: Mae Young gives birth to a hand
The most unbearable WWE storyline of all time? Mark Henry getting Mae Young pregnant and her giving birth to a hand. This storyline happened in the middle of Mark Henry’s “Sexual Chocolate” phase. It was revealed that the pair were a couple when a segment showed the two of them together in bed. Later, it was revealed that Mark had gotten his much older partner, pregnant.
In an episode of Raw, Mae went into labour. She eventually gave birth to a hand while Mark and others stood by her bedside.
Ridiculous!!!!
