The seeds for a feud have been plantedSeptember 20, Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas- WWE hosts its latest PPV. Night of Champions already has two matches booked for Rollins. The Dudleys are back aiming for their 10th tag team championship. The Divas are finally getting to fight for the title, Kevin Owens will be there and that means all the current championships will be defended on this night.WWE has increasingly and consistently made every PPV feel like a big PPV that can be compared to the Big 4.Night of Champions may just come in that list if the build up meets the hype. Here are the 5 Reasons Night of Champions will be one of the best PPVs of the year-
#1 The Seth Rollins Story
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Seth Rollins is the number one heel in the company right now and this is the nearest WWE has come to build a feud between him and Triple H. Inside his own head, Rollins is the greatest of all time. He’s angry that his statue was made into a mere running gag last week and he’s frustrated at the audacity of Sting and Cena to come at him and make him do double duty at NOC. Stephanie McMahon played it all against him, booking him against Sting and Cena on the same night.
Sting is merely messing with Seth’s head talking about all the respect he’s got of Triple H after Wrestlemania, Cena already came out with an entire monologue about the Authority’ s ways
This is the move that may indicate that Rollins may turn babyface soon.
#2 Sting
NOC repreents Sting’s second match in the realm of WWE. And that is a huge deal. WWE are definitely looking at improving the numbers and they’ve booked Sting to make the most of a season that’s already seen so many ratings low.
It is unlikely that Sting will get the one championship that eludes him. It’ll be quite poetic if he wins but that seems more like an ending than a beginning of anything.
But NoC should automatically fall into a category of must watch shows since A Man Named Sting makes his way for a match.
#3 Revival of The Open Challenge
Rollins is set to defend his newly won US Championship fo the first time. He faces Cena, the man whose nose he broke, in a rematch. It is hugely rumored that Cena will regain the title. Unlike any other Cena victory, this may just be the sweetest given that he’s been doing the best thing about pro wrestling this year with all his US Title Open Challenges matches.
Any casual or hardcore fan would love for that to continue.
So, you Go Cena. Come back with that title!
#4 Bellabration or not?
WWE did the best thing possible for the main roster divas division. Instead of Nikki Bella walking into NOC as the longest reigning divas champion, they now have her face Charlotte for the title on her 295th day of reign where she equals AJ Lee’s record. Bella is probably going to break the record but the suspense of it all and Charlotte’s impending rise in the division is most interesting turn of events that this division can look forward to.
So if not Raw, Charlotte may get her crowning moment at NoC.
#5 Owens Vs Ryback
Ryback hasn’t had many great feuds. The two men he had some chemistry with were Rusev and Bray Wyatt. Both those feuds ended prematurely.
Owens on the other hand is the best superstar this year to grace the main roster with his presence. He’s a brilliant heel with brilliant mic work and ring work. He’s phenomenal. Bret Hart and Stone Cold are already fans.
NOC looks like the first time he challenges Ryback for the IC title. The title may finally get the beautiful revival that it so needs.
