Shane McMahon may have lost the match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 but he has been taking control of the show for the past three weeks and it appears that the WWE Universe is happy about that.
Also, there are a few indications that the show could regain its lost glory and the ratings could once again spike. All of this cannot be said after just a couple of good episodes of RAW. But with the way things have gone so far, there are reasons to believe that the fans would be getting the best out of this weekly show. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 5 reasons why RAW is changing for the better-
New blood in the roster
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Since WrestleMania 32, we have seen Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Enzo, Cass, Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin making a mark of their own on RAW. WWE usually injects talent on the roster on a gradual basis but this time around, the company has injected half a dozen guys at once and almost all of them are fan favourites.
Just observe the crowd reaction when Enzo and Cass made their debut on RAW! This is always good for the company as grooming talent for the future always pays and a step in that direction is always welcome by the fans.
Backstage speakers
Last week on RAW, we had Mauro Ranallo in a backstage segment with some WWE superstars. This was a shocking sight for many. A year ago, Ranallo was recruited by WWE to do commentary for SmackDown and he has been successful in bringing some variety to the announcers table.
But this man working backstage on RAW was a surprise and there could be every chance that the company might be aspiring for a strong team of speakers, be it in the announcers' panel, the commentary team or even backstage.
Engaging the Women’s Division well
If you look at RAW before WrestleMania, there were many tag team matches with absolutely no purpose and many of the women never showed up to fight. But now, Shane has come up with the idea of a tag team tournament that would bring some direction to the scattered tag teams on the roster.
There is a prize to fight for and the matches have some prominence. Also, Shane is engaging the women in tag matches that would help them to come out and expose their skills. One such very good move was bringing Natalya into the Divas title mix and setting up a match at Payback against Charlotte with Bret Hart standing in Nattie's corner.
Give the Universe what it wants
The Authority had this very bad habit of giving the WWE fans repeat matches for weeks together. Though there are many combinations to go ahead with, the Authority went for the stereotype matches that they thought would impress the fans.
Forget about impressing them, the fans were bored with the way things went and the storylines were predictable. Now, this practice was appearing to die down slowly with the universe getting exposed to some good matches.
Talk about AJ Styles vs. Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens, Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho and these are some of the examples of what is to come in the future. These matches may be held at the PPVs but the storylines for all of this start on RAW.
The New Day
How is New Day so different from any other tag teams on the roster today? What makes them so special and so interesting these days? Have a look at the three guys that are a part of this faction - Big E, Kofi and Xavier.
All of them are good individual performers in the ring but no one really expected that they would impress the WWE Universe this way when amalgamated into a team. This team made its debut in 2014 and since then it has been continuously entertaining the fans.
They have accomplished a lot over the days and hopefully continue to achieve big gains in the coming days as well. One thing that can be said for sure is as long as the New Day keeps impressing the WWE Universe on RAW; the WWE team has absolutely nothing to worry.
