With the return of The Authority, it seems like there is some balance in the WWE Universe as far as heels and faces go. There are superstars that the management is firmly behind and they get some meaningful storylines, but most of that meaning gets invested on the main event storylines. Even with a thin roster, WWE has some superstars and divas who do get a respectable reaction from the crowd. That means they have their attention. Yet these wrestlers are not really involved in interesting storylines. Here are the wrestlers who could do really well with some really good content.
#5 Paige
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The 22-year-old Diva from Norwich, England has been a standout in the main roster. Though, even she has had to deal with blink and miss matches. But she has had a lot of screen time compared to the other divas.
She has consistently shown her aggression and has been able to bring the aggressive side of her opponent to the for as well. Most of her matches involve her taking bumps that we haven’t seen from the divas division in recent times.
And add to all of that, the pop she receives from the crowd. It may not be a really big pop, but it is still very much audible. the audience finds her interesting. WWE should invest some time to her matches and the storylines she’ll be involved in.
#4 Damien Mizdow
He is arguably one of the most popular superstars on the roster, courtesy his impeccable performance as Miz’s stunt double. He is hilarious and it’s heartwarming how dedicated he is to such a gimmick which was never expected to be nothing more than a sidekick comic relief. He’s got the audience invested more and more in this gimmick and made Miz a better heel.
But it is a fact that without being Miz’s stunt double, Damien Sandow has no other characteristics to cheer about. This gimmick is way better than the various famous personalities every week, and basically being a jobber.
Till now Miz and Mizdow are just having matches where the audience is chanting ‘Mizdow’s better.’ WWE needs to move further from it.
#3 Nikki Bella
Yes, I included her in the list of ‘wrestlers.’
For a long time, the Bellas have been called out on their lack of wrestling abilities. But unless you’re living under a rock, it’s hard to ignore that they have improved drastically in the past year.
They’ve been pulling off suicide dives and been taking bumps when they’re supposed to and needless to say, Nikki’s finisher ‘The Rack Attack’ is one of the best finishing moves just like AJ’s ‘Black Widow’ and Paige’s ‘Scorpion Crosslock’.
And on the top of all this, she is the Divas Champion. She deserves more time for her matches.
#2 Rusev
His gimmick is great. He is the foreign heel. And Lana is impeccable as his manager. But WWE needs to move ahead with something for Rusev that isn’t related to his Russian roots. They have done that with Ryback.
For once, it’s not America Vs USA. It’s about two big guys beating the hell out of each other. But even that is not quite up to par. The feud has a lot of potential, but there nees to be a storyline inplace where there is more beef between them for some reason. It could be that Ryback was eliminated by Rusev in the Survivor Series main event by unfair means.
But Ryback has now been fictionally fired. Let’s see where that leaves Rusev.
#1 Bad News Barrett
There is no question that the management believes in Bad News Barrett. Back when he was just Wade Barrett, he was a huge favorite to win the WWE Championship from CM Punk. But he suffered a shoulder injury and ever since then he has been marred with injury. The only thing keeping him away from the main event picture may be his history of injuries.
He has won the Intercontinental Championship again.but it’s hard to ignore that his former reigns weren’t really any special. The relevance, that Ziggler brought with his sheer popularity and wrestling abilities, were great. Barrett has some huge shoes to fill. The audience loves him, he’s charismatic and he is a good wrestler. All he requires now is a good storyline.
