You just DO NOT ignore Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens- the Indy sensation, the NXT Champion, the family man- came to the main roster and conquered John Cena. Yes, WWE actually made that happen and all the hardcore fans got to witness this rarest of the rare moments.

This was historic and just like in NXT, in a matter of a few weeks, Kevin Owens made an impeccably indelible mark. He’s yet to taste defeat and he’s always had a great fight when the time to fight does arrive.

Owens has simply become the newest sensation in the main roster and made things much more interesting. He may be the newest arrival in Vince Mcmahon’s list of aspiring candidates for the proverbial brass ring.

Here are 5 unique things about Kevin Owens that makes him compelling

1.Cool and Casual

Kevin Owens

The first thing that’s striking about the reigning NXT Champion is the way he cuts a promo. Some may see that he’s followed Stone Cold’s advice that he, once upon a time, received. The veteran told him to learn how to cut a promo.

Owens is not someone we’ve seen come out to the ring and shout at the top of his lungs to show how angry he is. It’s in the pauses he delivers inbetween sentences, the composure he displays, the simmer in his voice and the vehemence in his eyes.

The cool, casual and composed way of delivering promos is certainly a welcome sign.

2.Agility

Owens does not have the chiseled look of the face of the company. He more or less has a pot belly. But for a man his size, he not only has the strength but also the agility to perform a wide variety of moves.

His match against Cena was the biggest proof.

He performed a moonsault seamlessly and spectacularly. He even did a Jeff Hardy-like Swanton Bomb. The running senton is a constant in his arsenal. He’s much like vader but he’s the Vader of this era and generation.

3.Independent History

Owens as Kevin Steen during his Indy days

Wrestlers from the indies who make it to the WWE always have some hardcore fan love coming their way. There is this respect in knowing how hard the journey has been to reach the ‘big time’. An interesting fact is that he was told by Jim Cornette that he’ll never make it.

Owens began wrestling when he was 14 years old after watching a match between HBK and Diesel. He debuted when was 16. When he says he’s been doing this for 15 years, he’s uttering the truth.

Which brings us to the next point....

4.Brutally Honest

Stone Cold Steve Austin once advised Owens to learn how to cut a promo

Kevin Owens knows that he betrayed his best friend. he knows he destroyed Sami Zayn. But he is very sure more than anything in this world about family always being first. He does whatever he does for his family. He’s a family man.Just like John Cena is a company man.

His feud with Cena got a little depth added to it when Owens talked about how his son idolizes Cena. He blamed Cena for misleading kids throughout the world with hi hustle, loyalty, respect motto. He noted that the marketing behind Cena is something that Owens has lacked for many years. The marketing has made Cena into SuperCena, which is true to a larger extent.

5.The Fight

KO- Knock Out

Be it ‘Fight Steen Fight’ or ‘Fight Owens Fight’- this is no mean reputation.Whenever you see Owens gear up for a match, you should surely believe that he’ll give you a fight. He’s lived up to that reputation ever since he debuted in the WWE in December last year.

WWE has booked him well to show the fighting spirit of Owens. he’s been booked as well as, if not better than, the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.

And if Lesnar returns as a face, it’ll be interesting to see him fight the newest heel in town.
