He would say that even though he wouldn’t be able to challenge for the Universal Championship, he would win the Royal Rumble and get the match he truly desired – a match against Triple H at Wrestlemania.

Triple H would try to screw Rollins one last time with Rollins entering at #1. However, Rollins would overcome the impossible with the fans behind him and win the 2017 Royal Rumble, becoming the first WWE Superstar in history to win the Royal Rumble from the number one position.
