A lot actors, artists, and most celebrities have been known to have been intoxicated in public or at live events, pro-wrestlers are no different. It is a known fact that being in the entertainment business causes them to consume alcohol and illicit drugs. But sometimes, things go little too far and they either end up embarrassing themselves or getting arrested. Sometimes even both.
Here’s eight instances of wrestlers being intoxicated.
Meet John Cena's dad HERE
Chris Jericho and Gregory Helms
The man of 1004 holds and Gregory Helms, who most WWE fans would remember as The Hurricane were arrested at a gas station in Kentucky. Reportedly, the two were fighting in a cab whilst heavily being under the influence of alcohol. It’s no secret that Chris Jericho has had issues with alcoholism.
Sean Waltman
Another wrestler notorious for his history with drugs and alcohol, X-Pac, was arrested on charges of possession of hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia. This was certainly not the first time the former Degeneration-X and New World Order member was arrested for a drug or alcohol related offense.
Jonathan Fatu (Jimmy Uso)
When he says Uuus, y’all say Ooo! But someone should’ve told him that when you’ve had enough, you should stop. Jimmy Uso was arrested after having been spotted driving the wrong in direction on a one-way street by an officer in Tampa, Florida. His blood alcohol level was .18, which is more than double Florida’s legal limit
Darren Kenneth Matthews (William Regal)
Now this has to be one of the whackiest, craziest you’ve probably ever heard. Steven Regal was arrested for, and I’m not making this up, for urinating on a flight attendant. He wrote about this incident in his book, Walking a Golden Mile. He reveals that he woke up in an Alaskan jail and had no memory of the incident.
Ted DiBiase Jr.
The former third-generation wrestler and son of the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase Sr, was arrested in Tampa, Florida for driving under the influence on 15 February 2008 at around 4:30 in the morning.
Jack Swagger
In 2013, The All-American American was leaving a SmackDown! show, when he was pulled over on suspicions of being drunk. After confirming that he, in fact, was drunk, his car was searched by the officers and marijuana was found.
Jeff Hardy
That, Jeff Hardy is one of the greatest high fliers ever is a known fact. But in the main event of Victory Road, 2011, there was no flying from Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy faced the Icon, Sting for the TNA World Championship in that match. You can imagine how excited the fans, especially those to bought tickets to watch the the absolute slobber knocker. They, were however, extremely disappointed as Jeff Hardy was clearly high on drugs.
Sting was clearly pissed and unleashed the Scorpion Death Drop on Jeff Hardy to finish the match early. The look on Sting’s face after the bell rung said it all.
Scott Hall
Is it a surprise that his name is here? Also, known as Razor Ramone, the former nWo founding member was infamous for his history was alcohol and substance abuse and it was very difficult to pick out one incident. In this particular incident, Scott Hall was at a Top Rope Promotions event. Scott Hall was clearly intoxicated and what followed was perhaps some of the most embarrassing and awkward moments of his life.
Scotty 2 Hotty, who was also present at the event, had this to say- "Just witnessed the saddest, most embarrassing thing in my career!!!! How many guys have to die before some guys learn."
