SmackDown's WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge defeated Raw's John Cena to win the blue brand the #1 Draft pick in WWE's 2007 edition. SmackDown chose to go with the 7'1" Great Khali.
The Punjabi Playboy had debuted in 2006, where he was immediately introduced into a feud with The Undertaker. As the two behemoths collided, the Great Khali seemed to manhandle The Phenom on multiple occasions. This led to Khali quickly becoming a sensation in the company, being booked as a true monster.
A female WWE star said her life is in danger. Details HERE
Following his transition to SmackDown, the Great Khali continued to dominate anyone he got into the ring with. Ironically, he would end up succeeding Edge as the next World Heavyweight Champion.
After Edge had to forfeit the title due to injury, the giant emerged victorious in a 20-man Battle Royal to crown the new champion.
The clunky style of the Great Khali's wrestling finally caught up with him as he started losing traction with the fans. The giant still makes appearances for WWE when needed, but is no longer an active member of the roster.
