#1 Did WWE deliver on its promise?
WWE had booked the “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” between Randy Orton and Edge for WWE Backlash and received a lot of flak for their decision. Fans who’s watched the two men compete in a long match at WrestleMania 36 weren’t sure what the company was hinting at after making this booking and hoped that they would deliver on their promise.
The match lasted a good 45 minutes and saw the two veterans do everything they possibly could to put on the greatest wrestling match at Backlash. Edge brought out some moves that fans couldn’t believe he could still perform, while both men tried several different finishers on each other.
Randy Orton went as far as to deliver The Pedigree, while Edge took him down with the Rock Bottom. In the end, it was the Punt Kick that helped The Viper seal the victory and come out on top against his former best friend to even the scores.
WWE Backlash delivered a classic
While this match was nowhere near the greatest wrestling match ever, it was certainly one of the most memorable matches of all time. Fans did not expect such a great showing from these two men, especially keeping in mind that this was Edge’s second singles match in close to a decade.
