The first post-Wrestlemania pay per view is set to take place, and it is also the first dual-brand pay per view that is not one of the 'big four' (Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble). The event will also present new matches and different possibilities. One rivalry that has been brewing involves one of the most unlikely of pairings WWE has set up recently.
While in some ways it appears to start back with where the creative team left Big Cass, having him match up with a much smaller opponent like happened when he feuded with Enzo Amore, it also creates a huge opportunity for him as well. Big Cass is returning from a torn ACL which took him out of action for some time, and his first assignment is a grudge match against another returning star in Daniel Bryan.
It is an intriguing situation that has developed, as both men want to start their return with a bang by winning a pay per view match. Which of these two will return to singles actions results with a win? Here are five potential finishes for Daniel Bryan versus Big Cass at Backlash 2018.

#5 The Miz gets involved
As soon as it was announced by Kurt Angle that The Miz would be going to Smackdown Live, at the request of Daniel Bryan, fans had hope that what has arguably been the most talked about feud to not happen would finally take place.
With a tweet by Bryan stating simply how long he has waited to punch Miz in the face being a focal point, these two appear on a collision course. A possible program continued to be teased when it was announced that Bryan would appear on Miz TV, and fans got excited about what his appearance could mean.
While that didn't end up taking place, fans are still eager for this match to happen. Will it happen when Bryan wants it to, or will The Miz pick his spot by getting involved in the Bryan/Big Cass match? The animosity between these two is immense, and one has to wonder if an appearance by The Miz makes a difference in the outcome.

#4 Bryan wins via roll-up, receives a post-match beatdown from Big Cass
Size, youth and height advantage are clearly all in Big Cass' favor. However, those qualities are mitigated by Bryan's speed, technical ability and years of experience in the ring. At the Greatest Royal Rumble, Cass eliminated Bryan after the leader of the Yes Movement had been in the ring for seventy-plus minutes. It didn't matter how much heart Bryan had shown, the big man eliminated the more tired participant in the matchup.
What we could see potentially play out here is a different ending altogether. Big Cass could beat Bryan from one end of the ring to the other, but then take his focus off his opponent for just a moment, and that is when he would be unsuspectingly rolled up unsuspectingly for the three count. Should that happen, we would witness Big Cass come completely unglued. He would beat down Bryan, who at that point would be barely coherent given the beating that he took.

#3 Samoa Joe gets involved in the match
When Joe arrived on Smackdown Live as part of the Superstar shakeup, fans started salivating at the possibilities that this would create. Who would he face? Who could he face? Nakamura, Styles, and Bryan are all men that he has had a history with at one point or another, the latter two outside WWE. While he may not immediately contend for the WWE championship, presumably he isn't too far from being in contention.
His arrival also came with a stern warning for the entire Smackdown Live roster that they had it easy because he wasn't there. One name he mentioned as someone he wanted to take out was Daniel Bryan. So given Bryan has a target on his back, we could ideally see a situation play out where Joe gets involved in the matchup. Whether it costs Big Cass (via DQ) or Bryan remains to be seen. However, Joe being around should serve as a reminder for Bryan to have eyes in the back of his head.
#2 Big Cass gets himself disqualified, refuses to relinquish attack
Much like what was mentioned previously, we could see a dominant performance by Big Cass in this matchup. The bigger, stronger and younger man would hit Bryan with everything in the book, but at the same time Bryan's heart and courage remain one of his most endearing qualities, something fans have come to expect.
However, we could see it came to a point where Cass' dominance crosses the line and becomes sadistic or arrogant. He would then beat down his opponent time and time again refuses to break a five count and gets himself disqualified in the process.
This type of finish achieves a couple of different things: first, it makes Big Cass look credible as he beat down the former WWE champion, and second, a disqualification loss doesn't hurt his overall booking because it was less about him being pinned and more about how he actually cost himself the win.
#1 Big Cass wins via count-out, TKO
A rare result used for matches is one where a competitor is unable to continue. It happens in other combat sports, known better as a technical knockout, but in the case of WWE, it is rarely if ever used. Fans may recall Sami Zayn losing his NXT championship because he was unable to continue his match against Kevin Owens. This would be a result that would make Cass look good, and doesn't necessarily hurt Bryan because they could play up his past injury issues, and suggest they played a part in the result.
Having Bryan unable to answer a ten count and being technically knocked out would not be a case where he quit or didn't want to compete, but rather a case of his body not complying with what his mind wanted him to do. A variation could be that Cass defeats Bryan by the latter being counted out of the ring.
In both instances, Bryan is unable to answer the referee's ten count. A count out doesn't hurt Bryan because he wasn't pinned or made to submit and helps Cass because he can lay claim to a victory over Daniel Bryan.
