A rare result used for matches is one where a competitor is unable to continue. It happens in other combat sports, known better as a technical knockout, but in the case of WWE, it is rarely if ever used. Fans may recall Sami Zayn losing his NXT championship because he was unable to continue his match against Kevin Owens. This would be a result that would make Cass look good, and doesn't necessarily hurt Bryan because they could play up his past injury issues, and suggest they played a part in the result.

Having Bryan unable to answer a ten count and being technically knocked out would not be a case where he quit or didn't want to compete, but rather a case of his body not complying with what his mind wanted him to do. A variation could be that Cass defeats Bryan by the latter being counted out of the ring.
In both instances, Bryan is unable to answer the referee's ten count. A count out doesn't hurt Bryan because he wasn't pinned or made to submit and helps Cass because he can lay claim to a victory over Daniel Bryan.
