#4 Braun Strowman vs The Miz and John Morrison (Universal Championship)
The Universal Champion, Braun Strowman is set to defend his title against the notorious team of Miz and Morrison (Hey Hey Ho Ho) at WWE Backlash in a handicap match. While such a setting has proven to be disadvantageous to the Monster Among Men in the past, the chances of Strowman's first title reign ending in this fashion are close to zero.
I might as well go ahead and call this the most predictable match on the Backlash card as the feud between Strowman and Miz-Morrison is nothing more than a filler. As entertaining as the two are, there's no way WWE will put the Universal title on them at the expense of Braun Strowman. Moreover, fans are looking forward to Strowman's massive feud against The Fiend, and maybe the seeds of the same could be a planted at Backlash tonight. The Fiend showing up at Backlash after the Universal title match would be a great way to restart the feud!
Prediction: Braun Strowman retains.
#3 Sheamus vs Jeff Hardy
The feud between Sheamus and Jeff Hardy has become so personal in the last few weeks. With Sheamus bringing Jeff's history with drug abuse into the picture, framing an entire DUI accident, and even conducting a urine test this past week on SmackDown, the Charismatic Enigma probably cannot wait to get his hands on Sheamus.
While it would make sense for the babyface to take down the heel and get back his respect, something tells me that this feud will drag for multiple PPVs. Jeff Hardy got the upper hand on the go-home SmackDown show and more often than not in WWE, that means that he'll end up losing at Backlash - be it through unfair tactics. With Extreme Rules next after Backlash, we might see Hardy and Sheamus face-off in some interesting stipulation match there!
Prediction: Sheamus picks up the victory.
