Backstage update on Christian's current contract with WWE, his in-ring status, more

WWE Star Christian has about a year left on his contract

Tonight’s Raw kicked off with Edge and Christian as the show hosts and during their segment, ringside announcer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler referred Christian as ‘retired’. Although there was no official announcement released by WWE, many thought that his time as in-ring performer was done as a result of numerous injuries. Also, Paul Heyman mentioned on the segment that Christian can’t wrestle anymore because he has suffered too many concussions.

Later, PWInsider.com has confirmed that Lawler didn’t make an error in his announcement and that Christian is really retired. Due to his string of injuries and concussions, WWE officials consider him to be retired from the in-ring action. It is also noted that Christian has about a year left in his current WWE contract.
