The battleground pay-per-view is set to take place on 24 July 2016 at the Verizon center in Washington DC. This is also the first PPV to take place after the brand split. There are a total of 8 matches and one segment announced for the PPV.
This PPV also features the most anticipated match in the last three years as all the three former Shield members take on each other for the WWE championship.

The Viper, Randy Orton, who is set to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam returns to television action for the first time since October 2015 after suffering a shoulder injury. Orton will appear on a special edition of Chris Jericho’s “The Highlight Reel”.
We might see a main roster debut as Sasha Banks is to take on WWE women's champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke with a mystery opponent on her side.
