Bayley discusses being popular, her cheerful character and more

– Bayley has been one of the standout performers this year.

Bayley, who is the current NXT Women’s Champion, is also considered on of the best wrestlers in the industry along with Sasha Banks. Bayley has charisma and limitless in ring talent which is why she is so over with the fans.

Bayley even possesses a unique look coupled with solid wrestling abilities which mirror old school female wrestlers. Bayley spoke to the Daily Record while promoting the upcoming NXT’s UK Tour.

On being popular

Bayley has been over with the fans as a babyface and is extremely admired by the hardcore wrestling fans too – where some Divas from the main roster get some criticism from.

She said that she has been noticing this newfound fame as she travels more outside Florida. She added that she has been seeing her hugger t-shirts everywhere.

“I’m seeing my Hugger shirts all over the world, on everyone from little kids to grown men and women. When I started seeing that everywhere, that was when I realized something was happening. It’s really cool, ” the NXT Women’s Champion said.

On being a role model and an inspiration

Bayley said that whatever she does inside or outside the ring, she wants to be an inspiration to everyone.

She said she hopes that one day people will look upto her the exact way that she looked up to and was inspired by wrestlers such as Lita, Molly Holly and Ivory.

Being the ideal role model, Bayley said, “I’m always conscious of putting on a good image. I see lots of young girls dressing up like me and I get all these tweets saying I’m an inspiration. It’s a great feeling, so it’s really important not to let anyone down.”

On her cheerful character

Bayley has had this cheerful, bubbly character during her time with NXT. She is loved by fans of all ages especially the kids for this character of hers.

She said that it is easy for her to feel like a kid once she gets on the stage, as it comes naturally to her. She also added that even though she is tired, she feels positive and when she sees the fans, every ounce of negativity disappears.

“I don’t know if I can get through this one’, as soon as I walk out there, the adrenaline just pours out of me. It’s not even something I have to think about, it’s automatic. Once I see the fans and that wrestling ring, it’s like a switch. I just love it, “ Bayley said.
