WWE officially announced the return of Saturday Night's Main Event, a program that had not been seen in years. Based on the official announcement, it will take place on December 14, 2024, and it will be a two-hour special.
NBC will broadcast the show, while the location will be Long Island in New York and more specifically the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the Stamford-based company first hosted Saturday Night's Main Event back in 1985. Tickets for the event will go on sale from September 19, 2024, onwards.
The program returns as part of the deal between WWE and NBC, which will see another three specials take place. As part of the deal, SmackDown returned to the USA Network after five years.
As for Saturday Night's Main Event, it is unclear yet what the match card for the event will be and whether any of the current feuds will be extended through the event.
It could also act as a premium live event since the Stamford-based company has not announced any events between Survivor Series: WarGames in late November 2024 and the Royal Rumble in January 2025.
Fans would definitely be excited to witness the return of the highly anticipated show.
What could WWE have in place for Saturday Night's Main Event?
Saturday Night's Main Event is expected to see the majority of the top WWE Superstars in action.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are expected to participate in the event, but it remains to be seen if they will face off against each other for the former's title or if they will still be focused on their rivalry with The Bloodline.
On RAW, the feud between The Judgment Day and The Terror Twins should still be alive, while CM Punk could go after Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Meanwhile, Seth Rollins is also advertised for the event, meaning that he should be back in action by then. The Visionary has been out for weeks to recover from the injuries he has been dealing with.
