New WrestleMania opponent reportedly planned for Brock Lesnar

Change of plans!

As seen at WWE Fastlane earlier today, Roman Reigns won the number one contender’s match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. For weeks, it was reported that Bray Wyatt would interfere and cost Brock Lesnar the match. However, that never happened, as WWE is apparently going in a different direction.

At the Royal Rumble, The Wyatt Family set foundations for a WrestleMania showdown between Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesnar, when they ganged up on the ‘Beast Incarnate’ and eliminated him from the Rumble match.

However, WWE reportedly has since changed plans for Lesnar heading into WrestleMania, and the new opponent penciled in for Lesnar at the granddaddy of sports entertainment is the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose.

Dave Meltzer broke out the news on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, and while the plans can always change, WWE is currently heading in a new direction. This would also explain why Lesnar and Heyman didn’t go after The Wyatts after the Royal Rumble match, and why Dean Ambrose has taken a special interest in the former WWE World Heavyweight champion.

We will get to know more about the truth behind the reports tomorrow, as Monday Night RAW rolls out of the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
