WWE Clash of Champions has come to an end and with that, we're done with all the WWE pay per views for 2017. Like most other B-Tier WWE pay per views, the Smackdown Live-exclusive show had its shares of ups and downs averaging out to a "meh" show at best.
We're here to look at all the matches on the pay per view card and to see just how good (or bad) they were. So, without any further ado, here is our list of ratings for all the matches from WWE Clash of Champions 2017:
#1 Mojo Rawley vs Zack Ryder
The former Hype Bros teammates Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder took on each other in a grudge match on the kickoff show for WWE Clash of Champions 2017. The recently turned heel Rawley debuted a new entrance theme to start things off and a new finishing move to end the match with a victory.
It was a fairly standard encounter with Mojo picking up a much-needed win. Nothing special but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
Rating - 5/10
#2 Baron Corbin vs Dolph Ziggler vs Bobby Roode (Triple Threat match for the WWE United States Championship)
This one was quite a surprise with Dolph Ziggler winning at WWE United States Championship against all the odds against Baron Corbin and Bobby Roode in a Triple Threat match.
Initially expected to be the fall guy eating a pin here, Ziggler pulled out the surprise victory in a match that mostly ticked all the boxes. The three men all gave a good account of themselves, although, this does beg the question as to what happens with The Glorious One and The Lone Wolf going into 2018.
Rating - 7/10
#3 The Usos vs The New Day vs Aiden English and Rusev vs Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin (Fatal Four-way Tag Team match for the WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship)
The tag team division on Smackdown Live continues to deliver great matches with the latest being the championship encounter at WWE Clash of Champions 2017 where all four teams put on an all-action match that stole the show on the night.
Aiden English and Rusev were especially over with the Boston crowd and The Usos showed just why they're considered the best tag team in the company, coming up with yet another victory.
Rating - 8/10
#4 Charlotte vs Natalya (Lumberjack match for the WWE Smackdown Live Women's Championship)
This match was a real letdown and that's saying a lot considering that expectations weren't all that high, to begin with. Natalya dominated the match with the aid of all the lumberjacks on the outside with the exception of Naomi but then ate the loss with nothing more than a Figure 8 courtesy of Charlotte.
The Lumberjack stipulation and attempted cash-in by Carmella made no sense with the post-match Natalya promo just making things weirder. One of the worst matches on the night.
Rating - 4/10
#5 The Bludgeon Brothers vs Breezango (Tag Team match)
The tag team match between The Bludgeon Brothers and Breezango went pretty much as expected as the newly reformed team of Harper and Rowan mowed down the Fashion Police in pretty devastating fashion.
A squash match that might signal disaster for the WWE future of Tyler Breeze and Fandango.
Rating - 5/10
#6 Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (Tag Team match with Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan as Special Guest Referees)
This one was a real mixed bag. On one hand, we had the creative use of two referees and the right result with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn keeping their jobs thanks to a little help from Daniel Bryan.
Unfortunately, there were more than a few problems with the encounter. Shinsuke Nakamura barely did anything during the whole match except for an announce table bump, and the whole ending sequence was much too convoluted.
It also didn't help that Byron Saxton was providing some atrocious commentary that made no sense to further sour the match. This is a case of lost potential.
Rating - 6/10
#7 AJ Styles vs Jinder Mahal (Singles match for the WWE Championship)
You know how they say that AJ Styles can have good matches with anyone and everyone? Well, that certainly held true as he crafted a pretty interesting main event against Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship.
The Modern Day Maharaja was made to look strong as The Phenomenal One took a number of punishing bumps but then made up for it by becoming the first person to kick out of the Khallas and finally retaining the belt with a well-executed Calf Crusher.
The right result combined with the more than decent in-ring action makes this one of the better matches of the night.
Rating - 7.5/10
