WWE confirm Rusev-Lana engagement, Lana comments on the same

– Rusev and Lana have been the power couple of WWE over the last year. Rusev along with Lana dominated in NXT. As soon as he was called up to the main roster, Rusev remained undefeated for a long time.

Thier amazing run turned out to be even more fruitful when Rusev won the United States Championship and held it for a long time. Rusev ultimately lost the title to John Cena in an ‘I Quit’ match when Lana interfered and spoke for Rusev. This was the time when the cracks started to appear.

Rusev and Lana split on screen and went on with Summer Rae and Dolph Ziggler respectively. But off screen this couple was still going strong. After all the chaos in recent months involving Rusev, Ziggler, Lana and Summer, it has finally found a closure. As reported earlier, Rusev proposed to Lana and she accepted it. This has now been confirmed by the WWE and Lana herself. WWE released a statement on their website talking about this.

The ‘Ravishing Russian’ Lana who spoke with the WWE website had lots of things to say about Ziggler, Rusev and Summer Rae. WWE look to have integrated this into their storyline too. Lana confirmed that Rusev proposed to her and said that Rusev always loved her. She added that he only started dating Summer Rae to grab her attention away from Dolph Ziggler as he was extremely unhappy to see her leave.

She also talked about growing up in the Soviet Union and how people from the union are strong and survivors. Rusev being a Bulgarian also comes from those parts. She said that the cold there makes them strong and they exactly know how to survive when it gets dark. She had this to say.

"The winters get very cold and they get very dark. We do what we need to do to survive. This is what is happening. We will be leaving the greatest legacy this company and the WWE Universe has ever seen.”

Lana also spoke about Ziggler and called him “funny” and “charming” but was not a “super-athlete” like Rusev. She added that Rusev lost his way while he was with Summer which made him lose. She said.

"He listened to what I said, he was very focused. We made each other better. He challenged me and I challenged him. Summer has made him so soft that he hasn’t won. You tell me, who is the better pick?”
