The semi-retired WWE superstar CM Punk, may likely see an extension of his contract by the WWE.
Extending Punk’s contract, which will expire in July, will prevent him from working for rival promotions such as the UFC.
Even if the WWE extends Punk’s contract, it is unlikely that he will make a return as the third member of The Shield, as speculated.
Earlier this week, the WWE on its website, released the names of the six men in contention to join The Shield, excluding Punk from the list.
Adrian Neville (from NXT), John Morrison, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, Big E and Dolph Ziggler were the six men listed as potential replacements for Seth Rollins.
