WWE Cruiserweight Classic: 5 Observations from the 2nd episode

The second episode of the Cruiserweight Classic brought us more high-flying action.

#1 The main event was a little disjointed

Akira Tozawa and Kenneth Johnson’s styles didn’t mesh well.

Akira Tozawa came into the tournament with a lot of hype behind him, but the Dragon Gate star’s match against Kenneth Johnson did not live upto the hype.

The match began at a slow and awkward pace with the pair’s styles not gelling very well. It wasn’t a bad match by any means and definitely picked up near the end, but the battle between TJ Perkins and Da Mack earlier on in the show was a tough act to follow.

The match had its fair share of memorable spots including the one where Tozawa and Johnson traded knife edge chops till Tozawa got fed up and just punched his opponent in the mouth. Tozawa brought with him, his international experience and arsenal of strikes and suplexes which were enough to overcome Kenneth Johnson in the end.
