WWE: Is the Daniel Bryan - Randy Orton feud over for good?

No more of the Daniel Bryan – Randy Orton feud?

So the WWE reports are out and according to one of them, Daniel Bryan is out of the title picture. Orton’s win at Hell In A Cell was widely expected and so was the end of this feud sooner or later.

But on the other hand, in an interview a few months ago, Vince McMahon said that he was able to build Bryan as a superstar who could hang on with the WWE’s prototype for a perfect performer. McMahon clearly indicated towards pushing Bryan as a force to be reckoned with.

The first RAW after SummerSlam looked very promising and even though Bryan’s title win was spectacular, his title chase seemed to gain momentum and nobody was as over as Bryan was. Randy Orton finally turned heel and after a long time fans witnessed a total heel and babyface dichotomy.

Though everyone played their part well, Bryan and Orton’s rivalry seemed to have lost a bit of steam. Then a damsel in distress angle was introduced with Brie Bella’s engagement to Daniel Bryan playing a cameo.

The first time Daniel Bryan was swiped away from the WWE title, it seemed okay and spilled out a lot of possibilities. The second time it happened, a referee was fired, and nothing much happened immediately afterwards. What happened immediately after that was a build up to a no-contest match at Battleground. And Big Show finally decided to not be the Authority’s beast of burden.

From then on, it was mostly obvious that Daniel Bryan won’t come out looking triumphant in this storyline. It would have been quite an underdog story if Bryan was given an opportunity to have a lengthy title reign. But the WWE, in their reports at least, seemed to indicate that they did a favour to Bryan by showing him as one of the best because Bryan was ultimately bullied around.

An incredible underdog story could have been formulated but instead, the only awesome moment that the entire Daniel Bryan main event run had, was his spectacular and clean victory over John Cena.

The WWE made John Cena look like an underdog for over a year in the beginning of his ‘face of the WWE’ run. It was long enough to attract a lot of detractors for John Cena. And that was the particular time that made John Cena what he is today. He is the most polarizing WWE superstars today and that is never going to change.

The company is now back to having their two main champions as having the image of the prototype WWE star. The Shield is most probably going to break up soon and Randy Orton most probably won’t have his title swiped away from him by Vince McMahon.

Damien Sandow lost to Supercena. Dolph Ziggler is made to look irrelevant and just when it looked like Daniel Bryan can be a modern day, PG Era Stone Cold, the WWE made Big Show look like that. He even crashed one of the RAW episodes with a giant truck.

The WWE sure knows excels in the art of scr***** things up.
