WWE Draft Night 1: 6 Best Twitter reactions from the draftees

Night 1 of the WWE Draft was full of many surprises.
Night 1 of the WWE Draft was full of many surprises.

The first night of the 2019 WWE Draft is in the books. The major changes included Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman, and 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt all joining Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown. Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet and The Viking Raiders all remained on RAW, but were joined by 'The Viper' Randy Orton.

While the draft is only halfway done, there are several questions that need to be answered. Who will The Fiend feud with? Who else from RAW will join him on Friday Night SmackDown? Which names from SmackDown will join RAW? Will the surprises be good or bad?

The biggest names that could be drafted to RAW or SmackDown include Universal Champion Seth Rollins, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley, and Charlotte Flair. Daniel Bryan, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and the RAW Tag Team Champs Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are also among the many names in Monday's draft pool.

Although the first night is finished and every move has been analyzed, the reactions given from the Superstars who were drafted were equally memorable. Here are the six best reactions from draftees of Night 1 of the WWE Draft.

#6 Braun Strowman is drafted to SmackDown

It was announced during a press conference earlier on Friday that Braun Strowman and professional heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury would be squaring off at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view. The press conference had a big-fight feel for the two giants, but for Strowman, his Friday was far from over.

'The Monster Among Men' has primarily been featured on RAW since the brand split, but was SmackDown's 4th pick of the second round. Strowman had numerous matches for the Universal Championship, but came up short each time.

Will the move to the Blue Brand help Strowman's chances of finally winning the big one or will he continue falling short in championship bouts? Whatever the case may be, his reaction to moving to Friday nights was interesting.

#5 Drew McIntyre is drafted to RAW

Like Strowman, Drew McIntyre is another big star who has had a busy run on RAW without much to show for it. McIntyre did win the RAW Tag Team titles with Dolph Ziggler, making it his only title run since his return to the main roster. McIntyre's last notable work was as a henchman for Shane McMahon during McMahon's reign of terror over WWE. Over the last month, McIntyre has been on the shelf with a minor injury.

'The Scottish Psychopath' will soon be back on RAW and was officially drafted to the Red Brand as the final pick of the first round. McIntyre stated that he had two goals when he returned to WWE after WrestleMania 34. He wanted to end the complacency in the locker room and he wanted to win the Universal Championship.

If Seth Rollins and the Universal Championship stay on RAW during the second night of the draft, then McIntyre can certainly fulfill the second part of his proclamation. He has already put everyone on notice with his reaction to being drafted to the Red Brand.

#4 Lacey Evans is drafted to SmackDown

Lacey Evans moved from RAW to SmackDown.
Lacey Evans moved from RAW to SmackDown.

Lacey Evans was among six call-ups from NXT to join the main roster earlier this year. In her case, joining the main roster meant mysteriously walking up and down the entrance ramp on both RAW and SmackDown. The mysterious prancing didn't make a whole lot of sense until she finally joined RAW following WrestleMania 35.

After WrestleMania, Evans received three-straight title shots at Becky Lynch, but lost each time. It was too much too soon for Evans, as her character work was far ahead of her in-ring work. She has since improved, but needed a fresh start, as Lynch is still the RAW Women's Champion.

We'll have to wait and see who will receive the brunt of her torment since the SmackDown Women's Division is still waiting to be filled. She might get another title shot once a face takes the title from new SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley. The 'Sassy Southern Belle' kept to form on Twitter with her reaction to being drafted from RAW to Friday Night SmackDown.

#3 The Street Profits are drafted to RAW

The smoke stays on RAW.

The Street Profits had a strange 2019. They became NXT Tag Team Champions, debuted on RAW without actually wrestling and then appeared sporadically on both the Red Brand and NXT. It was a strange move considering The Viking Raiders were called up after 'Mania while still holding the NXT Tag titles.

The draft couldn't have come soon enough for Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford. Their backstage yelling became tiring on both RAW and SmackDown. While some of their segments were funny, it was only tolerable in small doses and certainly not twice every week. It was difficult to see them as nothing more than hype men on the main roster, especially since they weren't having any matches.

The Profits officially became RAW members, as the last pick in the fourth round. Ford and Dawkins celebrated their draft status as members of RAW just like college athletes do after getting drafted.

Fords' wife, NXT Superstar Bianca Belair, also chimed in after the duo officially joined the RAW roster.

NXT's Mia Yim also showed some love with what was arguably the best reaction to the former NXT Tag Champs finding a home on RAW.

#2 Nikki Cross is drafted to RAW

In one of the stranger moves of the night, Alexa Bliss was drafted to RAW with the first pick of the third round. Her tag team partner, Nikki Cross, wasn't even acknowledged when Bliss was drafted, but with the third pick of the fourth round, Cross followed her to RAW. If they weren't going to separate brands, why not just have them drafted together rather than as separate picks?

The partnership between Cross and Bliss has still been playing out on TV. Once Asuka hit Cross in the face with green mist, the former champs became faces. Bliss and Cross then came to the defense of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, after a vicious Kabuki Warriors attack. Since Bliss and Cross became a team earlier this year, it wouldn't make sense to break them up at this point.

Unfortunately for Nikki Cross, she had to wait to see if she'd remain by her friend's side on RAW, or if she'd be sent to SmackDown on her own. Luckily for Cross, she gets to stay with Alexa Bliss on RAW. The former Women's Tag Team Champ expressed the roller coaster of emotions she felt after she joined her buddy on Monday nights.

#1 The Revival are drafted to SmackDown

The Top Guys
The Top Guys

The best reaction to getting drafted came from the current SmackDown Tag Team Champs, The Revival.

The team recently won the titles at Clash of Champions and were involved with Randy Orton during the Viper's title feud with Kofi Kingston. It wouldn't have made sense for Dash and Dawson to win the titles, only to be drafted to RAW.

The biggest remaining question for the SmackDown Tag Team Division involves The New Day's draft status. Will they also remain on SmackDown or will they head to RAW? Heavy Machinery was also drafted to SmackDown, but Friday nights will need a more reputable face team to contend with The Revival.

Dash and Dawson are one of the more underrated duos on the mic and they are just as sharp on social media. After being drafted with the fourth pick of the second round, Scott Dawson provided the wrestling world with the very best Twitter reaction.
