Elimination Chamber is now merely hours away and it's been quite an interesting few weeks for a number of WWE Superstars. Whilst the card itself looks like the usual underwhelming show that WWE presents with any pay-per-view outside of the top four, there is potential for this to become a memorable night.
The first ever Women's Tag Team Champions will be crowned inside the Elimination Chamber as the women step inside the steel for just the second time, whilst the WWE Championship will also be on the line inside the structure just six weeks before WrestleMania.
It's also worth noting that there are a number of injured WWE superstars who could make their returns to the company at this event to set up a potential WrestleMania match or even a few NXT stars who could finally make their main roster debut.
#5. Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens could make their return
It's been speculated that the only reason that Lio Rush has been added to the Intercontinental Championship match between Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor is that WWE didn't want Balor to pin Lashley.
It's the same scenario that was used to take the Tag Team Championships away from The Authors of Pain on Raw and it's hoped that it isn't what actually happens at Elimination Chamber.
Lashley may be the Intercontinental Champion and somewhat untouchable with Lio Rush by his side, but he's made some interesting enemies over the years and one of them is now cleared to make his return and reported to be returning as a babyface.
This means that Kevin Owens could be the man who evens the odds for Finn Balor on Sunday night and actually helps The Demon King to lift the Intercontinental Championship for the first time.
Of course, Sami Zayn, Bray Wyatt, and Luke Harper are all awaiting the green light for their returns to the company as well, so there is a lot of potential for returns if WWE needs them.
#4. Title Changes
Elimination Chamber will see at least one set of Champions crowned since the first ever Women's Tag Team Champions will be decided inside Elimination Chamber, but what about the other titles that are on the line.
Elimination Chamber has forgotten the likes of Brock Lesnar, Asuka, The Revival, and R-Truth when it comes to Championship matches, but six out of the seven matches tonight will be Championship matches.
That being said, there aren't any titles that are expected to change hands. Ronda Rousey already has her WrestleMania opposition so it's a given that she will retain, the same could go for Daniel Bryan, who has had a fantastic run as WWE Champion.
Buddy Murphy is expected to retain his Cruiserweight Championship, whilst The Miz and Shane McMahon could be the best chance of a title change since there is reported to be some dissension between the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
Bobby Lashley's match could also see a title change, which means that even though the odds are against any titles changing hands, there is still some potential.
#3. Sonya Deville turns on Mandy Rose
Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose are only inside the Elimination Chamber this weekend so that Rose can continue her embarrassing feud with Naomi, as she continues to try to break up her marriage.
Deville hasn't been happy about Rose's intentions over the past few months and has been quite vocal about it, but it's thought that she has remained by her best friend's side because the Women's Tag Team Championships have become her new goal.
The Elimination Chamber is like a pressure cooker tensions can run high and if it's Rose that costs them the chance to win the titles, then it's likely that Deville will be going her own way on SmackDown Live in the future, which could finally spark the end of the on-going issues between Naomi and Mandy Rose.
#2. Lars Sullivan finally debuts
Lars Sullivan was originally set to debut on the main roster in the build-up to The Royal Rumble last month, but this was pushed back due to his own personal circumstances and it appears that the company has been able to work with him on that in recent weeks.
Despite not being spotted backstage for a number of weeks, it's thought that Sullivan could be the wild card this weekend since the company has become accustomed to including a monster in the Elimination Chamber so that he can show off a feat of strength.
The WWE Championship match would certainly become much more entertaining if Sullivan made his way to the ring, ripped open the door and targetted all of the men inside, but it's whether or not he will be given this kind of opportunity after his original debut went array.
#1. The Miz and Shane McMahon
The Miz and Shane McMahon are definitely an odd combination and it's hard to imagine both men defending those Championships at WrestleMania, which is why it's now rumoured that McMahon could be turning on The Miz this weekend.
The Miz works well as a face, something that he's obviously been working on in recent years and it's something that WWE should allow him to keep. If The Miz is the one who loses the Tag Team Championships tonight then a heel turn would make sense for Shane McMahon.
It would also lead to a much more interesting match between Shane McMahon and The Miz at WrestleMania, a match that would gain a lot more hype than if the company kept the same storyline and they walked into New Jersey as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
