There would be advertisements leading up to WWE Elimination Chamber promoting the Asuka vs. Lacey Evans match, which we knew wasn't going to happen. It's almost like the company forgot that Lacey Evans is legitimately pregnant. Various conspiracy theories cropped up, from Rhea Ripley's debut to Lacey Evans winning the RAW Women's Championship with a Women's Right.

There's a certain sloppiness to overall WWE programming these days, and one has to wonder if this is a part and parcel of live television - the chaos and the uncertainty. It just makes no sense to get the hopes of fans up and then dash them again.
There was a perfect setup for Rhea Ripley to come in from NXT, make her presence felt at a grand stage like WWE Elimination Chamber, and maybe even dethrone Asuka. It was a legitimate missed opportunity.
