WWE Extreme Rules 2015: 5 Face/Heel Turns That could happen at the pay-per-view

Extreme Rules might not be as big as WrestleMania to host a significant angle but since it is the first pay-per-view after the granddaddy of them all, the fans will be flooding in with a lot of expectations. Providing the same fans with some turns would be a great way to meet those expectations as the WWE Universe is known for loving pleasant surprises.Choosing the right superstars for the turn would be the next headache. There is a handful of potential candidates on the roster but we are going to take a look at some of the best ones from the lot in terms of chance and the future angles they could be involved in.

#5 Daniel Bryan

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Now, turning Daniel Bryan might look disastrous on the first read but there are a lot of reasons why he is in the list. The most prominent one among those reasons would be the future angles that WWE could run with Bryan.

A heel Bryan would be perfect choice to face Dolph Ziggler for the title while it will help him to pass the torch as well. Also, The fans wouldn’t mind a heel Bryan dropping the Intercontinental Championship but they are going to riot if a baby face Bryan drops it, which by the way is a big problem.

Bryan knows how to play a bad guy perfectly and WWE should give him a chance to prove his worth once again. And for the purpose of a cliff hanger, imagine Bryan being part of the Authority.

#4 Brie Bella

WWE will probably tear a page from last year’s SummerSlam and pit the two Bellas against each other at Extreme Rules. It might be an already tried out angle but after the retirement of AJ Lee, the Bellas feud is something that could bring back some life into the division.

The last sentence probably sounded like a well put joke but one has to admit about the improvement that both Bellas have made over the year. Nikki in particular has been giving solid matches on a weekly basis and since she knows her sister well, they could just surprise the fans. The first step towards this angle would be a full blown face turn from Brie and it will also make sense since her husband is a babyface.

#3 Kane

The seeds of a face turn from Kane have already been sown. The reasons for this is still making the WWE fans scratch their head but since it’s the WWE creative that we are talking about, we never know. Seth Rollins is the most probable catalyst for a turn from Kane and to be frank, it should have happened a long time ago.

There were rumors of Kane turning face from the time he joined the Authority but instead of pulling the turn off back then, WWE made it wait. Kane has no momentum whatsoever right now even if he turns baby face but he could. Why? Well, WWE creative, that’s why.

#2 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose, despite having all the ammunition in his pockets, is lost in the WWE roster. He has proved to the fans that he is a great baby face but he is even better when it comes to playing a heel. And WWE should just let him be the heel that he naturally is.

The options of Ambrose are limited in a babyface run but if he turns heel, he could be involved in more story driven angles. Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Randy Orton are just some of the names who could run a full-fledged program with heel Ambrose while the prospect of Roman Reigns will bring back Shield nostalgia for the fans.

#1 Seth Rollins

Okay, Seth Rollins is the top heel in the company and turning him would sound like a bad idea. But then again, who wouldn’t love to see a battle between Rollins and the Authority? The heel run of Rollins would find it hard to survive till Lesnar returns at SummerSlam since there is a lack of opponents.

Once he is done with Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, Reigns is the only credible option left to challenge for the championship and even Reigns is treated as a heel by the WWE Universe. So what can WWE do? Turn Rollins, pit him up against the Authority till Lesnar makes his return.

Lesnar on paper is still a heel and wouldn’t find it hard to tear apart Rollins at SummerSlam.
