Damian Priest will defend his United States Championship at WWE Extreme Rules in a triple threat match against Sheamus and Jeff Hardy. The NXT graduate has enjoyed a great push on RAW over the last couple of months. He now has a major challenge awaiting him at the pay-per-view, where he will look to retain his championship against two former titleholders.
Priest has developed an intense feud with Sheamus. The latter fought through a broken nose and never let the injury take a toll on his performances. While we saw The Archer of Infamy engage in a couple of matches against Drew McIntyre on RAW, The Scottish Warrior worked hard to make the champion's push look more credible.

They have shown mutual respect, and we could see something similar between Priest and Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules.

Speaking of The Charismatic Enigma, it was awkward when the creative team had him chase the 24/7 Championship on RAW. The entire booking was lazy at best and disrespectful at worst. It was great to see Hardy finally back at fighting for titles at the pay-per-view, and he earned a spot for himself after defeating Sheamus.
There's no doubt that this would be a good match, but it is also a great opportunity to establish Priest as a dominant superstar. Hence, he shouldn't lose the championship at Extreme Rules tonight.
