Fans have not seen Charlotte Flair on WWE television for a while now after suffering an injury in 2023, but many expect her to return this year. Unfortunately, recent reports suggest it will be a while before The Queen appears in the ring again.
Charlotte Flair was last seen on WWE television on the December 8, 2023, episode of Friday Night SmackDown. During the show, she went head-to-head with Asuka and tore her MCL, ACL, and meniscus during the match. She underwent surgery the following month and has been on the road to recovery since then, providing fans with regular updates on social media. Since she was physically active, and due to reports stating that the company was planning an angle for her against Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton, fans assumed she would return soon, but this might not be the case.

According to Fightful Select, Charlotte Flair is still not medically cleared and it will still take some time before she returns due to the severity of her injury. At the beginning of this year, a backstage source stated the company wasn't expecting her to wrestle in 2024 but expected her to beat the doctor's return timetable. She was believed to be ahead of schedule in February, but also "ahead of putting a time on a return." Finally, the site's sources have said that unless The Queen is fully cleared, there are no creative plans for her.

Although The Queen is currently inactive inside the ring, her fellow superstars haven't forgotten her star power. Stars like Roxanne Perez, Bianca Belair, and even Tiffany Stratton have already called out the former champion. Interestingly, another one who did so was Rhea Ripley.
Ripley and Flair have a long history together and their latest face-off at WrestleMania 39 saw Rhea dethrone Charlotte for the SmackDown Women's Championship.
