#7 Kurt Angle vs. John Cena vs. Velveteen Dream

Will Angle retire with a win?
Will Angle retire with a win?

With Kurt Angle now all set to have his farewell match at the Show of Shows, one wonders who will tussle it out with the Olympic Gold Medalist before he finally calls it a day? While names like John Cena and Shelton Benjamin have emerged as strong contenders, the former WWE Champion has endorsed the idea of wrestling a more younger competitor at the event.

Since the match could be presented as an Open Challenge for anyone willing to prove themselves, John Cena and Velveteen Dream could answer the call to an outstanding reception. Considering that The Cenation Leader has already tipped Dream to be the next big thing, this is the right match for him to steal the spotlight from two established performers in front of a shocked crowd in New Jersey.

Dream's inclusion would certainly add the charisma and the in-ring pace that this match demands, with Angle and Cena both struggling to match Dream's athletic prowess. Regardless of the fact that this would be Angle's farewell bout, passing the torch to Velveteen Dream seems like the right thing to do and would be the right endorsement at the biggest stage.

Prediction: Velveteen Dream wins

#8 Shinsuke Nakamura (C) Vs. Andrade 'Cien' Almas Vs. Rey Mysterio Vs. Mustafa Ali for the United States Championship

Would this be the right call?
Would this be the right call?

Another match that could have seen the light of the day under Triple H's supervision would have been Shinsuke Nakamura defending his United States Championship against Andrade 'Cien' Almas, Rey Mysterio, and Mustafa Ali. While it's a damn shame that the creative team have diminished Nakamura's credibility as a main event superstar, Hunter could have utilized his in-ring versatility to its full extent.

Considering that all the four performers are so agile between the ropes, they could have literally delivered one of the greatest United States Championship match of all time. With Almas willing to break out as a singles performer on the main roster, this would have been an ideal opportunity for him to outshine all the opposition to come out victorious, in the end.

Prediction: Andrade 'Cien' Almas wins
