Fastlane 2019 will take place on March 10, 2019, in the Quickens Loans Arena, in Cleveland, Ohio. It will start at 7 PM on the WWE Network while the kickoff show will start at 6 PM on a number of platforms including the WWE Network and WWE's Youtube Channel.
This pay per view is the last event before WrestleMania 35 making this an extremely important show. Four matches have already been confirmed for Fastlane. Kofi Kingston was just taken out of his WWE Championship match and replaced by Kevin Owens who will now challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Mandy Rose will challenge Asuka for the Smackdown Women's Championship for the first time in her WWE career. Shane McMahon and The Miz will receive a Smackdown Tag Team Championship rematch against the current champions the Usos.
The Women's Tag Team Titles will also be defended for the first time in WWE as the Boss and Hug Connection (Sasha Banks and Bayley) defend their championships against Nia Jax and Tamina.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Let's look at a few other matches that could potentially take place:
#5 Intercontinental Championship: Finn Balor (c.) vs Bobby Lashley (with Lio Rush)
Bobby Lashley will likely receive a rematch against Finn Balor. He became Intercontinental Champion by defeating Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match before defending his championship alongside his manager Lio Rush against Finn Balor.
Finn Balor was able to win the Intercontinental Championship by pinning Lio Rush. Because Bobby Lashley lost the Intercontinental Championship without being pinned, he will likely receive a rematch.
It is even more likely that this match will happen because this feud has continued after Elimination Chamber with Finn Balor recently defending the Intercontinental Championship against Lio Rush which was a week after Finn Balor and Ricochet defeated Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley. The two have not yet had the chance to have a truly great match and they deserve one more chance to do so.
Prediction: Finn Balor retains the Intercontinental Championship
The Shield vs Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, and Elias
Roman Reigns is back! The Big Dog announced that he would be returning to WWE very soon now that his cancer is in remission. After that, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins saved Dean Ambrose from an attack. A new group has been forming with the top heels of Raw including Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Elias.
Because Bobby Lashley is busy with the Intercontinental Championship feud with Finn Balor, Elias, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre will have to represent this new dangerous stable. The four men attacked Dean Ambrose after Elias cost Dean Ambrose a non-disqualification match with Drew McIntyre by hitting him with a guitar. As the group went to attack him after the match, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins made the save. The next move should be to make a six-man tag team match as this can be the last tag team match of the Shield before Dean Ambrose leaves WWE.
Prediction: The Shield gets the win
Raw Tag Team Titles: The Revival (c.) vs Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs DIY vs Aleister Black and Ricochet
The Revival have had a tough time as Raw Tag Teams champions. Not only do they have to contend with the former Raw Tag Team champions Bobby Roode and Chad Gable who are trying to regain the titles but they also have to contend with the recently called up duos of Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa and Aleister Black & Ricochet.
The logical conclusion would be to give all three of these talented tag teams an opportunity at the titles. An interesting thing at this match would be that all eight of these men were not only once a part of NXT but also held a championship in NXT. Chad Gable and both members of the Revival held the NXT Tag Team Titles, Ricochet held the NXT North American Championship, Aleister Black held the NXT Championship, Johnny Gargano held the NXT Tag Team and North American Titles, and Tommaso Ciampa held the NXT and NXT Tag Team Titles. This would be a great match that would allow the Revival to retain while protecting the NXT call ups.
Prediction: The Revival retains the Raw Tag Team Titles
United States Championship: R-Truth (c.) (with Carmella) vs Andrade (with Zelina Vega)
R-Truth finally made his return to Smackdown Live after a few weeks of not appearing on the show even though he is United States Champion. He did so in a big way as he announced an open challenge that was answered by both Andrade and Rey Mysterio leading to a triple threat match.
R-Truth would retain the champion by rolling up Rey Mysterio after the Master of the 619 hit Andrade with his signature move. Andrade would then attack Rey Mysterio after the match but would be sent running. Andrade should definitely be furious about losing his championship match because Rey Mysterio interrupted what was originally his opportunity. El Idolo will likely get another chance at the United States Championship and can possibly get the victory.
Prediction: Andrade wins the United States Championship
WWE Championship Number One Contender Fatal 5 Way: AJ Styles vs Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio vs Samoa Joe
Because 2019 Men's Royal Rumble winner Seth Rollins decided to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35, WWE still needs to find a challenger for Daniel Bryan (or possibly Kevin Owens) at WrestleMania 35.
The best way to do so is to announce a number one contender match for Fastlane that includes four of the six competitors in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match in AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, and Kofi Kingston along with Rey Mysterio who should also be able to have a role at the pay per view. As for who wins there is only one choice and that is Kofi Kingston. If Kofi Kingston outlasts the best of Smackdown Live, he will definitely prove that he deserves to fight for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Prediction: Kofi Kingston becomes number one contender to the WWE Championship
Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair (if Becky Lynch wins she is re-added to the WrestleMania main event)
When Becky Lynch won the women's Royal Rumble, everyone assumed that Charlotte Flair would somehow find her way into the match. However, Charlotte Flair shockingly replaced Becky Lynch in the match so Becky Lynch is now standing on the outside and is looking in.
Everyone knows that Becky Lynch will somehow get her way back into the match. This is the best way to do so. While Becky Lynch's rivalry with Charlotte Flair ended in a great way, we never got to see Becky Lynch make Charlotte Flair tap out. Therefore, Becky Lynch can get revenge on Charlotte Flair for taking her spot by making her submit.
Prediction: Becky Lynch is re-added to the Raw Women's Championship main event at WrestleMania 35 making it a triple threat match
