Universal Champion Roman Reigns is set to defend his title at WWE Fastlane 2021 against Daniel Bryan in what will likely be the main event of the pay-per-view. This week on Friday Night SmackDown, Edge defeated Jey Uso to become the special guest enforcer for this match at WWE Fastlane.

Edge's involvement has surely added another layer of drama to this match as he might play a role in the finish. Edge, the winner of the 2021 men's Royal Rumble match, is set to challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37. However, if Bryan defeats Reigns at WWE Fastlane 2021, it would be Edge vs. Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37.

There have been some massive tensions between the two babyfaces in the last few weeks on SmackDown. At WWE Fastlane 2021, we could witness a situation where Bryan gets into an argument with Edge. In what would be a shocking turn of events, Edge could attack Bryan, costing him the match and turning heel.

As great as Edge has been as a babyface recently, fans would love to see him have a proper heel run. He is, after all, The Rated-R Superstar and one of the best heels that WWE has ever seen. This could ultimately set up Roman Reigns vs. Edge vs. Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37.
