Apollo Crews has been overlooked on both SmackDown and RAW since his arrival from NXT, which could be why this weekend is the first time Crews has been in a singles match at WWE Fastlane.
Crews has developed a new heel character on SmackDown in recent weeks after a conversation with Roman Reigns which appears to have given him the boost he needed to challenge Big E this weekend.
That being said, Big E is expected to have several contenders for his Championship next month at WrestleMania. Rumors suggest that the star will be defending the title in a multi-man match.
