Roman Reigns and The Usos are finally reunited as The OG Bloodline to stand against the new Bloodline. A major six-man tag team match is also set to take place at Crown Jewel 2024 between these two alliances. However, one significant member missing from the Bloodline saga is Paul Heyman.
The Wiseman was written off television when he was attacked by Solo Sikoa and co. on SmackDown back in June 2024. With the Bloodline storyline progressing swiftly, the return of the Special Counsel seems to be on the horizon. However, upon his return, the WWE Hall of Famer might immediately turn heel on the Original Tribal Chief and the Samoan Twins, and there's one big reason why.
Reigns mentioned in a recent video package with Cody Rhodes that he has nothing left to lose, as Solo has already taken everything from him. This also includes Paul Heyman as Sikoa banished him from the group. So with this, Roman Reigns appears to be a chief without a tribe as he doesn’t even wear the Ula Fala necklace.
In the past, Reigns’ power led to corruption, which contributed to betrayals from Sami Zayn, The Usos. Even Solo Sikoa had recently labeled the OTC a manipulator during a SmackDown segment with the new Bloodline. This history suggests that power is what led Roman Reigns to behave poorly toward others.
Paul Heyman may have to turn on the Original Tribal Chief to prevent him from regaining that corrupting power. If Heyman re-aligns with Roman Reigns, the OTC would likely reclaim his dominance, eventually falling back into his corrupt ways, and resuming mistreating those around him.
This could be the reason the Special Counsel might decide to align with the more villainous side rather than join Reigns and The Usos.
WWE has already once used this angle for a major heel turn during Roman Reigns' title reign
Jimmy Uso had a similar reason for costing Jey Uso his Undisputed Championship match against Reigns at SummerSlam 2023. The Samoan Twin explained that if he had the kind of power Reigns held, he too might be corrupted, a fate Jimmy wanted to avoid.
So with WWE already having this angle incorporated before in the Bloodline Saga during Roman Reigns' title reign, it would not come as a surprise if it happened again. Paul Heyman could therefore follow the same rationale and decide not to rejoin the OG Bloodline upon his return.
Overall, the return of Paul Heyman is bound to bring a significant shift to the entire Bloodline saga. Now, it all depends on which side the Wiseman will choose, it will be Reigns or Sikoa.
