The WWE could have done the predictable thing. They could have had their greatest superstar wrestle in the main event of the Table Ladder Chairs and Stairs pay-per-view on Sunday, but they instead choose to hand the show stealing match to two bright young stars.
Rising stars in the main event
Bray Wyatt versus Dean Ambroe headlined TLC on Sunday, and while the result saw The Eater of Worlds pick up a dirty pin on Ambrose, it is still a positive sign that The WWE is finally showcasing their younger talent in the main event.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
While a Roman Reigns return to action would have been a exciting conclusion to the annual pay-per-view, seeing John Cena in the main event for the second straight month would have most likely rubbed fans the wrong way. The fact that Rollins was unable to strip Cena of his number one contendership probably rubbed fans the wrong way as well.
WWE must have known that a Cena victory was a very lukewarm way to end the pay-per-view, and decided to have Wyatt and Ambrose tear down the house instead, in a classic TLC match. In fact, TLC marks only the second time this year that two NXT Alumni have headlined a pay-per-view.
Positives from TLC pay-per-view
Having a great main event wasn't the only positive for TLC, Dolph Ziggler continued his climb to the main event, with a win over Luke Harper in a ladder match, Ryback defeated Kane with a timely shell shocked and Rusev keeps his United States Title, by beating Jack Swagger with The Accolade.
Fans may still be a little bitter over Cena retaining his number one contendership on Sunday night, but we must realize, that it is a time of unpredictable change in The WWE. Not only with deserving talent being pushed and headlining pay-per-views, but with the title picture altogether.
Unpredictable title picture
Even if Cena is able to win the title back from Lesnar at The Royal Rumble pay-per-view, there is still the six man battle of The Elimination Chamber to look forward to. Whether fans want to acknowledge it or not, there are many variables at play in The WrestleMania title picture and many positives as well.
Fans must remember that In a mere 41 days the title picture will be turned on its head with the arrival of The Royal Rumble pay-per-view. A event that will highlight the talent of 30 deserving superstars in a over the top rope battle for a chance to headline WrestleMania 31 in a title match.
If fans are not satisfied with the winner of The Royal Rumble, just remember, things can change! It was only last year that Daniel Bryan protested his way into the main event of WrestleMania 31 with Batista and Randy Orton. Bryan Ultimately won The Triple Threat match, becoming the first NXT Alumni to win the company's biggest prize.
So there you go! Things are officially starting to change in The WWE. Rising stars are headlining pay-per-views, new talents is being pushed, and all of this is happening right before we start on The Road to WrestleMania. I have to say. What a awesome positive and unpredictable time to be a WWE fan!
