WWE Hell in a Cell 2020: 5 possible cell matches

If WWE only has two matches inside Hell in a Cell this year, there is no way that an Intercontinental Championship rematch between Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy will take place in the cell.

However, if WWE's decision-makers want three Hell in a Cell matches on the same card, there is every chance that the stipulation could be added to Zayn vs. Hardy.

In 2018, WWE’s decision to book Randy Orton vs. Hardy in a Hell in a Cell match seemed unwise at the time.

Plenty of other matches on the show could have had the cell stipulation, including AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe (WWE Championship) and Ronda Rousey vs. Alexa Bliss (RAW Women’s Championship), but Orton and Hardy's non-title SmackDown storyline received the Hell in a Cell spotlight instead.

As it turned out, the veteran Superstars produced one of the best Hell in a Cell matches in recent memory, with the screwdriver spot (see above) standing out as a major highlight from the show.

Zayn interfered in the 2017 Hell in a Cell match between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon but he has never competed in the match type.

If WWE keeps the storyline going after Zayn’s victory at Clash of Champions, maybe this will be the year that he finally steps foot inside Hell in a Cell.
