At Hell in a Cell, WWE could revisit a rivalry that subtlybegan last year but never saw the light of the day. Remember when Mustafa Ali jumped ship from 205 Live to SmackDown in 2018 and immediately found himself feuding with the reigning WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan? Well, it was clear that WWE had big plans in store for the RETRIBUTION leader.
He was even set to be a part of the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship at the namesake pay-per-view in 2019. However, a minor injury caused him to drop out of the match. He was replaced by Kofi Kingston who would then have an impressive showing inside the Chamber and then win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
As for Ali, he didn't miss much time and returned nearly a month after Elimination Chamber 2019. However, after an impressive showing against Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan at Fastlane 2019, he was pushed down the card.
Now that Mustafa Ali is taking revenge for being held back all this time, expect him to go back to where it all began and confront Kofi Kingston as early as tonight's Hell in a Cell PPV.
