Kevin Owens has been a bit directionless in WWE for a while now, and it looks the same heading into Hell in a Cell. Even with his win against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 37, he seems to be in an odd spot on SmackDown.

Kevin Owens has been used as a Universal Championship challenger to Roman Reigns, but he was never going to dethrone The Tribal Chief. He even competed for the Intercontinental title but fell short.

Top name doesn't want to enter the WWE Hall of Fame. More details HERE.

Looking back, 2021 wasn't an outright bad year for Kevin Owens. But somehow, it seems a bit forgettable heading into Hell in a Cell. At least the positive is that he gets regular TV time, which is more than what can be said for a lot of other superstars.

There are two options for Kevin Owens at Hell in a Cell - either a Triple Threat Intercontinental title match against Apollo Crews and Sami Zayn or a singles match against Sami Zayn. The direction on SmackDown seems to indicate the latter.

Either way, Kevin Owens is unlikely to benefit from a win at Hell in a Cell.
