Samoa Joe made AJ Styles tap out

AJ Styles retained his WWE Championship at Hell In A Cell when he rolled through a Coquina Clutch and reversed it into a pinfall to defeat Samoa Joe for the 1-2-3.

Joe immediately had a smile on his face when the bell rang because he thought he would be declared the winner after making Styles tap to the Coquina Clutch between the 2-count and 3-count, but the referee didn’t see the WWE champion submit and the victory went to Styles.

WWE’s camera cuts during the finish to this match were superbly done and it wasn’t until we saw the post-match replays that it became clear that Joe should have won.
