The Hell in a Cell concept is designed to end feuds in a way that the superstars can then move on knowing that there was a definitive full stop to their rivalry, but in recent years this hasn't been the case. This is the second no-contest ending in two years since Brock Lesnar burst into Roman Reigns' Hell in a Cell match against Braun Strowman last year and attacked both men. Before 2018 the only time that Hell in a Cell had ended controversially was when Kane took on Mankind on Raw back in 1998.
