Drew McIntyre (C) vs. Randy Orton - Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship
The two titans will clash once again for the WWE Championship. This time, they will attempt to settle things once and for all in a Hell in a Cell Match. McIntyre outlasted Orton in their showdown at SummerSlam, using a crafty backslide to retain. The Legend Killer continued his onslaught on the Scot, targeting his skull with devastating Punt Kicks that put the champion’s immediate in-ring future in jeopardy.
We predicted The Apex Predator would win at Gold Rush but the ghosts of Orton's past—Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, and Christian—got involved and costed him. Still, defeat didn't humble the brash Superstar, as Orton launched one more attack on the legendary tetrad. So, McIntyre offered the third-generation star another shot at his belt, accepting Orton's Hell in a Cell challenge at the titular pay-per-view on the Oct. 5 episode of RAW.
