The backstory
Years before Becky Lynch became 'The Man', she was honing her craft in the independent scene, and also trained with Finn Balor during the early stages of her career. Lynch and Balor are longtime friends and both went on to have incredibly successful careers in WWE.
A clip recently surfaced on the web, which shows Becky Lynch and Finn Balor chain wrestling in the ring. This rare clip seems to be years before she bagged a contract with WWE in 2013.

The rare clip
When Lynch was a teenager, she heard that Fergal Devitt was opening a wrestling facility in Ireland. Lynch and her brother kicked off their training in Devitt's school in June 2002. She made her Pro Wrestling debut a few months later, and initially wrestled mixed tag team matches alongside her brother.
Starting in 2005, Lynch appeared in a string of indie promotions, most notably, SuperGirls Wrestling, All Pro Wrestling, Shimmer Women Athletes, and Fight Factory Pro Wrestling. Check out this short clip which shows Lynch and Finn Balor chain wrestling inside the squared circle. The 30-second clip manages to show how versatile Lynch was in the ring, long before she had a worldwide stage to showcase her skills on.
The aftermath
Lynch signed a deal with WWE in 2013 and made her debut in NXT soon after. She came up to the main roster in 2015, kicking off the Women's Revolution alongside Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks. Her heel turn at SummerSlam 2018 led to a series of events that ended with Lynch winning the main event of WrestleMania 35 by pinning Ronda Rousey.
Finn Balor became the first Universal Champion at SummerSlam 2016. He recently made his return to NXT and turned heel in the process.
