The backstory

The Undertaker has been a part of some of the biggest storylines in WWE history, but there have been a bunch of angles that were forgotten by the fans, never to be heard of again. At SummerSlam 2002, Brock Lesnar defeated The Rock to win the WWE title and become the youngest WWE Champion of all time. Lesnar soon got into a feud with The Undertaker, who was donning the persona of a biker at the time.

At Unforgiven 2002, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar's WWE title encounter ended in a double disqualification. The Deadman was set to face Lesnar at No Mercy, inside Hell in a Cell. The buildup to the PPV saw Lesnar cook up an evil plot to knock Undertaker off his game.

The ploy

Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar's manager, introduced the WWE Universe to Tracy, a woman who claimed that she was involved with Undertaker in the past. Heyman had paid Tracy off to make the false claims. Tracy cut a promo on an episode of SmackDown, as a confused Taker watched. She made a bunch of claims and tried to ruin Undertaker's relationship with his wife Sara, to which he responded by stating that he has never met Tracy.

She finished off her promo by slapping Undertaker and storming out of the ring. Throughout the promo, Tracy referred to Undertaker by his real-life name 'Mark', which was WWE's attempt to add more realism to the storyline.

The aftermath

The angle didn't last long and nothing concrete came of it. Undertaker wrestled Brock Lesnar at WWE No Mercy for the WWE title, but The Beast managed to put down The Deadman in the end and retain his WWE title. Lesnar soon went on to feud with The Big Show.
