Former WWE superstar Kurt Angle was recently the guest on Jim Ross’ podcast show The Ross Report as both he and Ross addressed the current situation of WWE and CM Punk.
Angle talked about the departure of Punk and stated that he totally respected his decision to leave the company. The TNA superstar, who is considering to turn down a new contract and has been hinting towards a comeback to the WWE, gave his views on Punk’s decision.
Ross himself did not agree with the opinion of many of the observers who thought that Punk owed some sort of farewell to the fans. And Angle backed him up on that.

"I didn't know that he was that banged up," said Angle. "I have to respect the fact that he walked away, whether he comes back or not. The rumor was that he was upset with the booking, and he's upset with these part-timers coming in, and taking the main spots at WrestleMania."
Angle stated that if the main reason behind Punk’s departure was because of his injury, he said he couldn’t have respected him more for the decision.
He also wanted to call Punk and tell him that there is going to be a time where Punk could go to being a part-timer. Angle feels like there would have been many more times where CM Punk could have headlined WrestleMania and it was not always going to be headlined by part-time wrestlers.
