WWE legend Batista recently opened up about losing weight after the filming for the movie Knock at the Cabin was over. The former WWE Champion, who has retired from wrestling, admitted that he had to gain a lot of weight for the movie.
The Hollywood actor revealed that he stuggled to lose the weight he had gained, but exercising and Brazilian jiu-jitsu helped him accomplish his target.
"I put on all this weight for 'Knock at the Cabin.' I was really big, like over 300 pounds...We did nothing but grapple, like for hours. And so I started shedding the weight off, and I figured, 'I'll just stick with it so I'll get my brown belt,'" Batista (original name Dave Bautista) said during an appearance on the 'Live with Kelly and Mark' show back in mid-July, via Business Insider.
He also revealed that he wanted to continue his training program until he won the brown belt in jiu-jitsu, something that he accomplished eventually.
Batista calls losing weight a 'challenge'
Batista appears to be in his best shape ever, after losing significant weight, compared to his wrestling days. The WWE legend revealed that he had lost 130 pounds, and that he was the lightest he had been since he was a kid.
However, the former champion admitted that he did his best to stick to his goal, as losing this weight was a 'challenge.'
"The heaviest I've ever been was 370 pounds. When I started Deacon, I was about 325 pounds, and throughout most of my wrestling career, I was about 290 pounds. Now, I'm about 240 pounds. Just a year and a half ago, for Knock at the Cabin, I went up to 315 pounds. And that's when the nightmare started. Getting that weight off has been a challenge," the 55-year-old actor told Chris Van Vliet a few days ago.
It remains unclear whether the legendary wrestler will need another body transformation for his next movie. As for a WWE return, he has ruled it out, saying that it will be only for the Hall of Fame induction.
