As of today, the 2025 Royal Rumble is a month away. It is time to get excited and even though there are a lot of shows until then, much has been speculated over who will come out on top.
The men's Rumble in particular has a lot of interest, especially with how loaded WWE's main event scene is. There will be an even bigger spotlight on it once the deal with Netflix begins. So, who should win the 30-man match and earn a world title shot at WrestleMania 41 in April?
A lot of big names would be interesting winners, like Roman Reigns, John Cena, and CM Punk. However, WWE has the opportunity to do something unique. The Rock's status for 'Mania is reportedly unknown at this point, but what if that isn't actually the case and he's already booked for The Show of Shows?
This could lead to the biggest shocker in Royal Rumble history, with The Final Boss entering the match at the very last minute. And by last minute, we mean exactly that. The Rock can use his position on the TKO Board of Directors to increase the number of entrants to 31, which is when he'd come out, before eliminating whoever is the last man standing at that point.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
What a way this would be to mark his first Royal Rumble Match since 2001!
Why The Rock winning the 2025 Royal Rumble Match from #31 must happen
WWE needs to make this move for multiple reasons, as long as the Hollywood icon will be at WrestleMania 41. This is the perfect way for The Rock to "earn" his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes, since it would be a legitimate surprise. We don't get those very often.
Furthermore, The Final Boss is instantly made the villain of the story, instead of the cool legend who just returned to a massive ovation. The Rock would get maximum heel heat this way, especially if he eliminates a fan favorite to win the Royal Rumble Match. It could be CM Punk or Roman Reigns, potentially setting up his next match beyond 2025.
Funnily enough, this wouldn't be his first controversial Royal Rumble victory. The Rock won it in 2000, last eliminating The Big Show. However, his feet touched the floor during the final spot. That was accidental. But 25 years later, it wouldn't be an accident. The return of The Final Boss could be upon us, starting with the biggest swerve possible.
