Gunther is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship on the upcoming episode of WWE RAW. He will be facing a familiar foe in Sami Zayn, who was the last man to pin him.
Gunther has described that loss at WrestleMania 40 as the biggest embarrassment of his career and vowed it will never happen again, claiming Zayn is not on his level. However, those words might come back to haunt him, as a WWE legend could make his return to RAW and cost Gunther the title. The legend in question is none other than Goldberg.
At WWE Bad Blood, Goldberg was in attendance, and Gunther had some harsh words for the former Universal Champion, calling him a "one-trick pony." This clearly didn’t sit well with Goldberg, who seemed eager to confront Gunther before Sami Zayn interrupted and attacked The Ring General.

Goldberg could seek revenge by costing Gunther the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW, potentially setting up a showdown between the two down the line.
Current WWE champion had previously hailed Goldberg as his all-time favorite
A few weeks ago, the legendary Bret Hart made a special appearance on Monday Night RAW in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. During the segment, Gunther confronted The Hitman and took the opportunity to troll him.
The Ring General cleverly remarked that while Bret was great, he was only the second-best behind Gunther's supposed all-time favorite, Bill Goldberg. This witty jab was in line with Gunther's growing reputation for getting under the skin of his opponents and whoever stands across from him.
At WWE Bad Blood, Gunther took things further by telling Goldberg that his previous statement to Bret Hart was a complete lie. He mocked the WCW legend, questioning how the best professional wrestler in the world could ever be a fan of someone like Goldberg.
With these verbal barbs being exchanged, it will be interesting to see if Goldberg steps back into the ring to face Gunther in the near future.
